Leopold Hotel Antwerp – Antwerpen Blog
Welcome at » 2011 » May

We look forward to welcoming the AIF team back to Antwerp for their yearly visit. Each year we support the AIF team with complimentary stays with us while they raise funds to support some of the poorest in Africa.

AIF is a non-profit, locally registered non-governmental organization with a mission of serving the poor, the needy & the suffering, while strengthening children, their families, & their communities.

Since our small beginnings in 1997, working with a few street children, AIF has expanded to helping the needy in a variety of projects:

  • A project of organizing 10-12 free medical camps for the disadvantaged in rural areas and slum areas of Kenya and Nairobi, treating between 700-1000 people at each camp.
  • Providing food for homes for Street Children, as well as for certain poor and needy schools.  We see this project as vital to the education of the children and distribute about 2-3 tons of food weekly.
  • Purchasing and distributing children’s educational books and materials to these disadvantaged children.
  • Being on call and available to assist with disaster relief.
  • More recently, in recent years, when lack of rainfall has resulted in widespread famine, as well as in the aftermath to the post-election violence of 2008, AIF was able to respond immediately, delivering tens of thousands of Kilos of food to many affected populaces in several areas of the country.
  • A Community Development Project in the Nyanza province near the border of Uganda through helping alleviate rural poverty by empowering farmers. We are setting up a model farm to teach them new innovative methods of farming.
